ONSLAUGHT “Sounds Of Violence” (2011, Thrash Metal)

Tras su regreso luego de años de silencio en el 2006, “Killing Peace” no me había impresionado mayormente con su sonido a lo nuevo Exodus modernizado. Me esperaba algo más en la tradición de Onslaught. Pero “Sounds Of Violence” no tiene nada que ver con aquella banda que parió “Power From Hell” o “The Force”, aunque esta vez si dió en el clavo con un disco de thrash metal del CARAJO. Todo suena crudo – con la mínima dosis necesaria de modernidad en la producción -, enojado, pesado, irritante y con mucho olor a Slayer, Exodus o Sodom. Cada tema es una patada en las bolas. “Sounds Of Violence” consta de una introducción (“Into The Abyss”) ocho temas, un “outro” (“End Of The Storm”) y un cover de una banda de su país. Quién no quiera escuchar thrash metal puede seguir de algo, esto es como el boxeador que tira un golpe tras otro sin parar, Sy Keeler canta más grave y seco, los riffs de Nige Rockett y Andy-Rosser Davis funcionan como picadoras de carne.

CD para ser escuchado de corrido y todos los temas tienen lo suyo. “Code Black” y “Godhead” son muy “slayerescos”, otros golpean sin ir tan rápido como “Rest In Peaces” y “Antitheist”. Un tema palero es sin dudas “Suicideology”, de lo mejor del CD. Mi preferido es “The Sound Of Violence” violento y hasta con gancho. El tiro de gracia lo pegan con una desnucadora versión de “Bomber” (Motörhead) con Tom Angel Ripper de Sodom y el mismísimo Phil Campbell en la guitarra participando en la misma. Ojo que este es uno de los mejores lanzamientos del 2011 sin dudarlo, mejor título imposible: todos estos sonidos son absolutamente violentos. Gratísima sorpresa.

After their return in 2006, I wasn’t impressed with "Killing Peace" they sounded to me like a “new Exodus modernized”. I was expecting something more in the tradition of Onslaught. But "Sounds Of Violence" has nothing to do with that band that recorded "Power From Hell" or "The Force", but this time they bash us with an incredible bone crushing thrash metal lesson. The sound is mainly raw - with the minimum required dose of modernity in production -, angry, heavy, and very irritating, there are some influences of Slayer, Exodus and Sodom. Each song is a kick in the balls. "Sounds Of Violence" has an introduction ("Into The Abyss") eight tracks, an "outro" ("End Of The Storm") and a cover of a band of their country. Who does not want to listen to thrash metal can carry on with something, this is like the boxer who throws a punch after another without stopping, Sy Keeler sings more serious and dry, Nige Rockett riffs and Andy -Rosser Davis serve as meat grinders.

This CD has to be to be played non stop and all the tunes have their own highlights. "Code Black" and "Godhead" are "slayerques", others hit violently without going fast as "Rest in Peace" and "Antitheist" One real fast song is undoubtedly "Suicideology" one of the best songs of this CD IMO. My favorite is "The Sound Of Violence", trully violent and with and interesting hook. The coup de grace was stuck with a broken neck version of "Bomber" (Motörhead) with Tom Angel Ripper of Sodom and Phil Campbell on guitar. One of the best releases of 2011 without doubt, best title imppossible: all these sounds are violent. Very pleasant surprise.
