ANIHILATED "Created In Hate" (1988, Thrash Metal)

Esta banda de thrash metal londinense sacó durante la década de los ochentas un EP y dos discos. Gracias al sello brasileño Marquee Records, el año pasado se han relanzado en CD este disco y el que le precede (“The Ultimate Desecration”). Hace unos meses la banda se reformó con miras a lanzar un nuevo disco para el año 2009.

“Created In Hate” es thrash metal crudo y furioso con raíces muy marcadas del viejo Slayer, Metallica y el punk. Son ocho temas realmente agresivos y furiosos, con el plus de tener letras interesantes para el género. Así “Chase The Dragon” habla del abuso de heroína, musicalmente ataca al oyente con un poderoso doble bombo por parte de Bod en batería durante todo el tema. “Power Is the Path (To Destruction) se focaliza en las consecuencias del abuso del poder, el tema título (Con excelentes riffs que Mark dispara de su viola) hace lo mismo pero con los supervivientes de una guerra nuclear que ven sus consecuencias.


“Slaughter” posee un riff de inicio muy en la vena de “Kill ‘Em All”, en todo el disco se siente un clima absoluto de old school thrash con tintes de punk, como se escucha en el instrumental “Nitemare”. Sin vueltas. Anihilated lo hace bien y se siente realmente genuino, incluso retrotrayendonos a aquellos años.

Sin dudas han creado un disco musicalmente lleno de odio, pero con letras que los diferencian de otros colegas, y mucho thrash de ese que nos gusta a los fans más nostálgicos. Para esta re edición incluyeron cuatro bonus track en vivo y un booklet lleno de fotos e historias del grupo.

This band of thrash metal from London released during the eighties an EP and two LPs. Thanks to the Brazilian label Marquee Records this year saw the CD release of this work and also the second LP “The Ultimate Desecration”. During the last months the group reunited and revamped with the intention of recording a new album in 2009.

“Created In Hate” is raw and furious thrash metal with remarkable roots on old Slayer, old Metallica, and punk rock. They are eight songs that hit you in your face with the plus of contain interesting lyrics for this genre. So we have “Chase The Dragon” talking about the heroin and drugs abuse, musically attacks the listener with a pounding double bass (Bod on drums) during all the track. “Power Is the Path (To Destruction) focus on the consequences of power abuse, “Anihilated” (With killer riffs that Mark fires from his guitar) does the same but with the survivors of a nuclear war that saw the remains of the world.

“Slaughter” has a initial riff with a strong taste of “Kill ‘Em All” era. On all “Created In Hate” it is perfectly clear that it is present a strong vibe of old school thrash mixed with some punk. Anihilated do it really well and it feels really genuine, yet going back to that ages.

Without doubt they have “created” a work musically plenty of “hate” with tons of thrash... that one that the more nostalgic fans like me really love. For these re release they have included four live bonus tracks, and a booklet full of photos and histories of the band. Horns up to Anihilated!
