Mudface is a five piece North American outfit formed in 2005. I discovered the band thanks to an Irish friend (Thanks Regina!) that send me this CD. The music is fresh, energetic, aggressive and interesting, Basically is it like the modern metal of the nineties meets some thrash metal elements. There are some Alice In Chains/Machine Head/Black Sabbath influences but no one can't accuse them of copying the forementioned bands. Ten consistent tracks, with Chris Dinsmore vocals pounding energy and intensity, the same with Rich Pia's guitar work... and we have a drummer here, Pete Bostaph! (Paul's brother)
The production and general sound are really good, songs convince with consistent riffing and the mentioned balance between thrash/metal/modern metal. Just listen to "Anti" with riffs reminiscent of Helmet, or "Killshot" to mention a few. An interesting band that I believe that will surprise us in the future with a more killer CD. In the meantime "Anti-" is a solid work that fans of the forementioned bands and also metal fans in general should give it a chance. Excellent artwork and layout, I will be following the steps of this guys.

Mudface es un quinteto norteamericano formado en el 2005. Descubrí a la banda gracias a una amiga irlandesa que me envió el CD. La música es vital, con energía, agresividad e interesante, podría describirlos como un metal de los 90s cruzado con ciertas cosas de thrash. Algunas influencias de bandas como Alice In Chains/Machine Head/Black Sabbath pero nadie puede señalarlos o acusarlos de afanar a ellos.Diez temas consistentes con Chris Dinsmore en la voz destilando energía e intensidad, lo mismo con la guitarra de Rich Pia... y tenemos aquí un baterista, ¡Pete Bostaph! (Si, el hermano de Paul)
La producción es realmente buena, los temas convencen por sus constantes riffs y el mencionado balance entre thrash y el metal más tradicional/moderno. Escuchar "Anti" con ese riff bien Helmet o "Killshot" por mencionar dos. Mientras tanto "Anti-" es un laburo bueno que los fans de las bandas mencionadas anteriormente y también fans en general pueden pegarle una oída. Excelente tapa y diseño, creo que en un futuro están para aún más así que voy a estar atentos a estos tipos
