ENGLISH:
After the release of five albums and ten years later, the band from Lima (Province of Buenos Aires) with this CD decides to give a “testimony” of their career. We have two new songs plus tracks of each album, anothers taken from compilations and demos. “Antiguas Heridas” y “Preludio Del Fin” are the new ones, the first has a very Obituary-ish feeling, the second has a lot of tempo changes and an excellent use of the two types of voices by Alejandro (Guitar, vocals). “Neo-Ritual” is representated by “Príncipe De Los Dolidos” (And those very fast riffs that appears without permission) and “Necedad Inquebrantable”. There are two LIVE songs (The “capital letters” are premeditated because here we have raw takes without mixes or overdubs) recorded live in the city of Zarate, September 21th 2005.: “Tierra De Sueños Muertos” y “Visiones” shows 1917 on stage without the usual cheats that this kind of takes of a concert suffer when they are included on a CD. Two bombs dropped, the guitar unleashed heavy riffs and the drumming attacks without mercy.
“Mercader De Voluntades” with a constant hammering and “Piel De Martir, Carne De Asesino” are the songs included from the “Visión” CD. From the compilation “Sudamérica Brutal 2” we have “Cuervo Sin Alas”, with constant references to thrash metal sound. From the excellent “Génesis & Horror” say present “Brotherhood Of Barbarism” and “Fatalidad”. The song “Sectarios Y Profetas” was released originally on the compilation NAHUEL III during 2001, again thrash says present but mixed with the trademark death metal of 1917. From their early years are we have “Redención” and "Encadenados Al Sufrimiento" (From their first album “Inti Huacay”) and “Sombras De Lo Extremo”, and a track extracted from their demo “Bienvenidos A La Nada” (1996) that in that moment was a omen of a band that it will show a great quallity.
“Testimonial” give me the sensation of not being the traditional “Greatest Hits”, it is a friendly travel between the different moments of the band plus the addition of puntual things (I remark the two LIVE songs as a true “hit in the nail” in middle of such hipocrisy in the treatment of this kind of live takes). For this reasons, I cellebrate this “Testimonial”, that can not be absent on the collection of a 1917’s fan. For those who doesn’t listen anytime, this is totally representaitve of each momento of them and it counts. The final result is very positive and a product of a sound that refuse to no perseverate.
